Attention Sunday Morning Leaders! This Discipline policy is to help you and our kids have a successful RLK experience and is for ages 4 years old to 6th grade. Remember our vision of making each morning Fun, while we help kids grow in Faith and strengthen the Family. A classroom that isn’t distracted with discipline issues will certainly help us see that vision carried out.

One of the most important things to remember is that we want to “help turn the day around” for a child. That is to say, if they are having a hard time and creating a hard time, we want them to get it together and finish the hour well instead of going home in trouble! Hopefully if a child receives a yellow card they will change their behavior, turn their day around, and the card can be collected before the parent arrives to pick them up. 

Even though this is our objective we need to understand that discipline needs to be carried out if it is to be taken seriously. We don’t want to just hand out and take back yellows just for the sake of it. If a child receives a yellow and you can tell he or she is really trying and has improved, please take it back from them letting them know that you are proud of them and hope to see them next week having a good morning. If their behavior slightly improves but is still causing some issues please give the card to the parent! 

Red cards can be immediately given out if a child has threatened the safety of the room in anyway, or if they are completely out of control. Please contact your floor manager if you have given the red card before class is finished so they can help you deliver the card to the parent. 

Copies of each card should be placed in the Discipline holder so the next week class can know if a child has had issues during the month. Remember a child that receives two red cards in a month will not be allowed back to class without a parent/guardian accompanying them.

Express Interest

You may have an interest, but are unsure as to where you can help. Some of the most unlikely people make the greatest youth leaders, so take the next step as you prayerfully consider this ministry.

This is an opportunity for us to briefly get to know each other and for us to hear your desire to be involved in the life of our Children's Ministry. We will give you a general overview of the ministry and arrange for you to visit and observe our programs.

The application packet was developed to obtain appropriate information to be used in the selection process. Once you have completed the application please turn it in to the Children's Ministry office.

We encourage you to come and observe our programs. This is an important opportunity to get a feel for the ministry without having expectations or responsibilities  placed on you.  Observing can often be overwhelming or uncomfortable…but encourage you to do it anyway!
