CELEBRATE RECOVERY IS NOW LAUNCHING AT RLC Newhall@Savia!
New Faith-Based Ministry Begins Friday, September 27th
Hey, how you doin’? My name is Bill Rieser and I am the ministry leader of Celebrate Recovery.
You’ve undoubtedly heard the expression that “time heals all wounds.” Unfortunately, it just isn’t true. As a pastor, I frequently talk with people who are still carrying hurts from 30 or 40 years ago.
The truth is - time often makes things worse as wounds that are left untended can fester and spread infection throughout your entire body like an emotional cancer. Time only extends the pain if the problem isn’t dealt with.
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program to help people overcome their ‘hurts, habits and hang-ups.’ Based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory, our recovery program is unique, and more effective in helping people change than anything else I’ve seen or heard of.
Over the past five years I’ve witnessed how the Holy Spirit has used this program to transform literally hundreds of lives.
Celebrate Recovery is for anyone who struggles with a ‘hurt, habit or hang-up.’
The feeling of being hurt is an emotional reaction to another person’s behavior or to a situation, such as abandonment, abuse, divorce, rejection, unfaithfulness of a spouse, codependency, or grief.
A habit is an addiction to someone or something that usually happens when those hurts are not healed: alcohol, drugs, food, pornography, shopping, cutting, stealing, or people are several examples.
Hang-ups are negative mental attitudes that are used to cope with people or hardship, such as, anger, depression, fear, shame, guilt, unforgiveness, prejudices, ungratefulness, or being negative.
Bottom line, all of us have fallen short. And because of sin, we’ve all hurt ourselves, we’ve all hurt other people, and others have hurt us. And we have the physical and emotional ‘scars’ to prove it.
Celebrate Recovery is for everyone who feels stuck in life–trapped by their ‘hurts, habits and hang-ups,’ their circumstances or their addictions. It’s also a place for people who haven’t faced those intense battles but want greater wisdom on leading a healthy life filled with freedom! And that is what so many courageous men and women are doing at Celebrate Recovery.
Starting on September 27th, Celebrate Recovery will meet every Friday night from 6 - 10pm at the RLC Newhall campus at Savia (23780 Newhall Avenue):
