Saturday, May 18th marked the official opening of Savia: A Community Partnership
Hundreds attended the event that was held at 23780 Newhall Avenue in Newhall.
City of Santa Clarita officials attend ceremony
Laurene Weste, Mayor Pro Tem, City of Santa Clarita had some great words to say about Real Life Church and the work that is being done in Newhall with this new facility and partnerships. Marsha McLean, City Council Member, City of Santa Clarita, was also in attendance. Both city officials presented a certificate to Rusty George, Lead Pastor of Real Life Church.
Local Artists Represented
Also in attendance was Shane Hammond, a local artist who crafted many art pieces in the building from the 2-story wooden tree sculpture to the reception counter and large, uniquely-crafted barn doors located throughout the building. Many of the child artists from Nomad Lab were also present as well, showing off their “street” art located in the private booths in the 2nd floor Wi-Fi lounge.
Community also comes out
Many of the Newhall locals stopped in to meet their new neighbor and enjoy a burger hot off the grill (donated by Burger King at Newhall Ranch Road & Bouquet). Kids from the neighborhood spent some time in the lower level classrooms making their own sand art while parents toured the building and listened to live music.
Real Life Church attendees show support
As usual, Real Life Church attendees showed up in droves to show their support at the historical event. Many volunteered all day grilling hamburgers or handing out tastings at the the soon-to-be-opened Artisan, a coffee and juice bar. Many representatives from each non-profit partner were also on-hand to answer questions and explain their services. Obviously, this is an exciting time in Real Life Church history – a chance to really live out our mission statement of helping people find and follow God.
